# Chord > Chord is a non-custodial trading API and on-chain data index. Best-route quotes and unsigned swap transactions on eight EVM chains: Ethereum (1), Arbitrum One (42161), Base (8453), BNB Chain (56), Avalanche C-Chain (43114), Monad (143), Arc (5042) and Robinhood Chain (4663). Swaps on those chains and on Solana rolled up by token, venue and hour, wallet PnL, liquidity positions, and an analyst agent. GET /v1/chains lists what each chain serves. REST base URL https://api.getchord.xyz/v1. Every amount is a decimal string in the token's smallest unit. Native USDC on Arc has 18 decimals but the ERC-20 predeploy 0x3600…0000 has 6; the API takes the predeploy address (or the zero address as an alias). Reads need no key at 60 requests a minute per IP; an X-API-Key header raises the limit. Chord never holds funds or keys: a trade comes back as an unsigned transaction that the user's own wallet signs. Numbers come from Chord's own index of on-chain swaps; answers name the chain and the window they cover. Every documentation link below is the Markdown version of the page (drop `.md` for the HTML page). ## Getting started - [Chord Docs](https://getchord.xyz/docs/index.md): Chord routes trades on eight EVM chains, indexes their swaps and Solana's, and keeps prices current around the clock. The developer reference for the API, the streams and the agent tools. - [Get started](https://getchord.xyz/docs/get-started.md): An API key (optional), your first request, and the three calls that take you from nothing to a signed swap on Arc. - [Add Chord to your app](https://getchord.xyz/docs/build.md): The conventions that hold on every endpoint — chains, addresses, amounts, timestamps, coverage flags, caching and errors — so you read them once. - [Clients and codegen](https://getchord.xyz/docs/clients.md): Generate a typed client from the OpenAPI document, or call the API with fetch. There is no SDK to install. ## Core concepts - [Authentication](https://getchord.xyz/docs/concepts/authentication.md): Reads need no key. A key raises your rate limit, meters usage, and unlocks the Ask agent API. - [Rate limits](https://getchord.xyz/docs/concepts/rate-limits.md): Per-minute buckets, what shares them, the headers to read, and how to stay under. - [Errors and retries](https://getchord.xyz/docs/concepts/errors.md): The error body, the codes you will branch on, and which ones to retry. - [Chains, addresses and amounts](https://getchord.xyz/docs/concepts/chains-and-amounts.md): How Arc's native USDC, the zero address and decimals work across the API, and what differs on Robinhood Chain. - [Quotes and routing](https://getchord.xyz/docs/concepts/quotes-and-routing.md): What a quote is, how the route is found, what the numbers mean, fees, slippage, the fast frame, and the honest no-route answer. - [Data freshness and honesty](https://getchord.xyz/docs/concepts/data-freshness.md): Rollups versus the tape, coverage flags, attribution, and the flags that mark wash volume, impostors and suspect pools. - [Meta aggregator](https://getchord.xyz/docs/concepts/meta-aggregator.md): One quote and one unsigned transaction on any Chord chain. Chord's own router answers first; a third-party aggregator only when it fails, and the answer says who quoted it. - [Streaming](https://getchord.xyz/docs/concepts/streaming.md): The public WebSocket (candles, trades, and the board-wide feed for Arc and Robinhood Chain — prices, 24h counters, first-time tokens) and the server-sent events feed, with the full protocol. - [Liquidity and positions](https://getchord.xyz/docs/concepts/liquidity.md): What the liquidity family indexes — events, pools, positions, the health score, range planning — and how the numbers are made. - [Wallet PnL and Smart Score](https://getchord.xyz/docs/concepts/wallet-pnl.md): How portfolio PnL is computed from the tape, what is excluded, and how the top-wallets board ranks. ## Recipes - [Swap from your app](https://getchord.xyz/docs/recipes/swap.md): Quote, approve, simulate, build, sign — the full non-custodial swap flow on Arc, with the edge cases that bite. - [Build a token page](https://getchord.xyz/docs/recipes/token-page.md): Header, chart, tape, venues, pools, holders and a trade card for one token on Arc — which calls, in what order, and what to stream. - [Discover tokens](https://getchord.xyz/docs/recipes/discover-tokens.md): A markets board, a trending strip, a new-launches feed, search, and the attention signal — every discovery surface on Arc from four endpoints. - [Charts](https://getchord.xyz/docs/recipes/charts.md): Candles from the tape, paging into history, live updates over the WebSocket, and trade markers. - [Trader dashboard](https://getchord.xyz/docs/recipes/trader-dashboard.md): Top wallets on Arc, one wallet's PnL and history, its calendar, and its liquidity positions — a Nansen-style page from five calls. - [LP dashboard](https://getchord.xyz/docs/recipes/lp-dashboard.md): A pools screener, a pool page, a range planner and a positions view for liquidity providers on Arc. - [Launch lifecycle](https://getchord.xyz/docs/recipes/launchpad-lifecycle.md): From a launcher creating a pool to a token with holders and liquidity — following a launch on Arc through the API. - [Bridge to Arc](https://getchord.xyz/docs/recipes/bridge-to-arc.md): Move USDC to Arc on Circle's CCTP rails, or bring any token from 60+ chains through LI.FI — the two bridge families and when to use which. ## Agents - [Agents on Chord](https://getchord.xyz/docs/agents.md): The same API as tools for models — an MCP server, a function-calling manifest, the Ask agent API, and llms.txt for retrieval. - [Agent skill](https://getchord.xyz/docs/agents/skill.md): The Chord Agent Skill (SKILL.md + references + a small client) for Claude Code, Codex, OpenClaw, Hermes and any agent that reads the Agent Skills format. - [Docs MCP](https://getchord.xyz/docs/agents/docs-mcp.md): Give your agent the Chord documentation as tools — search, read a page, look up an endpoint with its real example — hosted at getchord.xyz/docs/mcp or run locally over stdio. - [MCP server](https://getchord.xyz/docs/agents/mcp.md): The hosted Chord MCP server. One URL, 17 tools, every chain Chord serves as a tool parameter. Market data, quotes and unsigned swap transactions for any MCP client, no install. - [Function calling](https://getchord.xyz/docs/agents/function-calling.md): The Chord agent tools as an OpenAI-style JSON Schema manifest, always current, for any framework that takes a tool list. - [Ask agent API](https://getchord.xyz/docs/agents/ask-api.md): POST /v1/ask — Chord's analyst over the Arc index and the router, as an API for other agents. One JSON answer, sources, a route card, tables. - [llms.txt, Markdown and discovery files](https://getchord.xyz/docs/agents/llms-txt.md): This documentation as plain text and as Markdown pages for retrieval and system prompts, the machine-readable API contract, and the files that let an agent find Chord's tools from the domain alone. ## Networks - [Supported networks](https://getchord.xyz/docs/networks.md): The chains Chord indexes and routes on, with ids, gas, anchors and the data families that serve them. - [Arc](https://getchord.xyz/docs/networks/arc.md): Chain 5042 — Circle's USDC-native L1. Ids, RPC, the two faces of USDC, contracts, venues and launchers as Chord indexes them. - [Robinhood Chain](https://getchord.xyz/docs/networks/robinhood-chain.md): Chain 4663 — tokenized stocks and ETFs on-chain, 24/7.
